This charming log home, located only minutes from Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park, can be your base for exploring mid-coast Maine and Mount Desert Island. The home, built in 2000, overlooks the bridge that connects Mount Desert Island with the mainland and gives spectacular views of Frenchman's Bay, the mountains of Acadia and the western portion of Blue Hill Bay.
This two bedroom home has features not often found in a smaller vacation cottage, some of which are:
Fully furnished Kitchen which includes 4-burner electric stove, full sized refrigerator, dish washer, double sink and all the normal kitchen appliances such as coffee maker, toaster oven and electric tea kettle. It is also stocked with the normal assortment of dishes, silverware and cooking utensils.
Two bedrooms that include a master bedroom in the front with a king size bed and a second bedroom with two twin beds. Each bedroom has a good sized closet for clothing
1 & 1/2 baths; a full bath with tub/shower and a half-bath off the master bedroom.
Washer and Dryer available in the cellar.
Dish Network satellite television reception and there is also a DVD player and VCR provided in the living room area.
Covered porch along the front of the building facing the water that also features a porch swing and chairs and a gas barbecue. The porch continues uncovered around the end of the building to catch the warm afternoon sun.
Downtown Bar Harbor is about a 20-minute drive and the main entrance to Acadia National Park is about 5 minutes before reaching Bar Harbor. The Acadia area and Mount Desert Island, along with the surrounding coast, offer some of the most spectacular scenery to be found anywhere. Acadia National Park is often ranked as one of the premier locations in the National Park system. For the early riser, the top of Cadillac Mountain, just outside Bar Harbor, is the first place in the continental U.S. to see the rays of the new day's sunlight.
Whether you choose as your vacation activity in the Acadia area hiking, boating, kayaking, golfing, whale and puffin watching or just sitting on the porch with a coffee watching the world go by and the ebb and flow of the tide, Bay View Cottage offers everything you might want in a comfortable, quiet setting as your base.
